1 question since when Satanism is "legal" coz i belive since his existence it was always legal .....

Depending on how u see the religion .....it was forbiten coz the christians feared of our continus evolution and skills.
They are scarred by something they dont understand and know,if u say TOS is the 1st legal grp then u follow there rules they give u a red and green light when to go and when to stop.

I find it interesting that the CoS often proclaims itself as the 'only true satanic religion' when, LaVey himself said that the CoS didn't even believe in Satan as a real deity but rather a manifestation of our carnal self. How can one have a 'religion' without a deity?
It seems like CoS, like so many other supposedly 'satanic' organizations, are a bit threatened because they lose a little bit of their mystery when others are allowed into their super-duper-secret-Satan-club. The fact is that CoS is no more than a group of humanist who wrap themselves in a dark aura in an attempt to attract those who want to play Satanist.
As someone who's grown up in a generational Theistic Satanist family, I am a bit disgusted by CoS's constant and undying need to legitimize itself through declaring themselves unique and 'the only viable and real religion'. Sounds a lot like the party line spouted by a lot of the Christian denominations they so claim to despise.
Ugh, CoS just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

I have to agree with you Chloe. I'm one of those GenX'ers you wrote about (I'm34) and, for my generation, Satanism was largely used as a scare tactic and a way to rebel against society and authority. It was no different than any other rebellious movement be it the social revolution of the 1960's, punk movement of the 1970's, or the goth movement of the late 90's. I'm personally, deeply saddened by this because there is an entire generation of intelligent, forward thinking people who totally missed the boat on Satanism.
It's good to see modern Satanists taking up the call and really working to revolutionize Satanism. Good luck to ToS and to WSA. These organizations represent the changing but true face of Satanism.
